Aircraft Modelers

 

The "Franklin County Aircraft Modelers" is a club for radio/control airplane enthusiasts.
The club flying fields are located in North New Portland, North Anson, and Carrabassett Valley Maine.
FCAM is a charter member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics.
A flight instructor can assist you with checking out your airplane and provide flight training.
 
FCAM members are dedicated to achieving the highest degree of professional radio/controlled
aircraft skill while enjoying the exchange of knowledge, comradery and the promotion of the healthful
attributes of the sport through civic exposure.

In 1935 Howard Hughes H-1 speed record of 352 MPH for that class aircraft, was toped this year by a modified Yak 3U.
Howard Hughes H-1 held the speed record for 76 years !
